My granddaughter says I am too old to learn (I am 65 this year). Is she right?
No, my oldest pupil is 74 years old and enjoys their lessons. Age is not a barrier, just bear in mind that as we get older (I am 38!!) our brain slows down, so patience and practice is the key to success. Perhaps your granddaughter can learn with you, and share a lesson so you can support each other.

My son has learning disabilities, he is aged 10 and has very limited reading and writing. Can he have lessons?
Of course he can, I always tailor my lessons to each pupil, so he can learn at his own pace. He will develop fantastic co-ordination and it will also boost his confidence.

Can you teach me during the day? I am retired and would rather have lessons in the mornings.
Yes. I teach from 7am - 7pm during the week and will always be able to fit in daytime lessons.

How often will I have my lessons?
Most students have one lesson a week (30 minutes) which allows time to practice! I will help you work out a lesson and practice schedule so you can see you are moving in the right direction. Some adult learners enjoy 60 minutes a week but it's always your decision as to how long your lesson is.

Can you enter me for grade exams?
Yes, I can do this and advise you on what is the most appropriate for you. There are two fantastic step one and step two exams which adults and children can do to gain confidence and show off their new skills within the first year of playing.

How much practice will my 7 year old need to do?
This will depend on other commitments, but daily practice is recommended for at least 20 minutes when starting out. As she progresses, then 30 minutes a day.

What skills do I need to have?
Beyond the desire to play, no other skill is necessary.

My 4 year old twins would like to play the piano. Are they too little?
No. I use the Dogs and Birds books. Have a look on the links page.

How do I pay for my lessons?
The first lesson is paid for after the lesson and then it's every month in advance.
